Sarah Kaye takes on January Challenge for Asthma UK

R J Francis accountant, Sarah Kaye, is riding 350km on an exercise bike during January to raise money for Asthma UK. The distance is the equivalent of cycling from Hereford to Fistral Beach in Cornwall, one of Sarah’s favourite places. But that’s not all, Sarah is also taking on the Dry January challenge which means no alcohol for the whole month.

Many people will know that January is the busiest month for accountants. Throw in a lockdown and home-schooling, and this becomes an even greater challenge for Sarah. However, she has a very personal reason to see this through. Sarah’s sister, Laura, has Brittle Asthma and has had a particularly difficult 12 months living with the condition. Sarah said:

“Her attitude been a real inspiration to me this year and I wanted to do something to help. Asthma UK is a charity very close to my heart.”

Asthma UK helps asthma sufferers by funding research, campaigning to improve the quality of care and providing help and support. Laura has described the charity as a “godsend”.

Sarah’s R J Francis colleagues have been hugely supportive. This is the first in a number of charity and community activities the firm and its staff have planned for 2021. Look out for our new Community Involvement web page which goes live next month to see what’s in store.
